Graduate student Kate Mullins Zanot (Binghamton/Chenango Valley) placed fourth out of 12 heptathlon competitors at the Penn Relays, accumulating 4,360 points. The seven-event competition was held April 23-24 at Franklin Field in Philadelphia, Pa. Several other BU track and field athletes are competing at the prestigious event, which continues through April 28.
Mullins Zanot stood in 10th place after day 1, but moved up six spots on the strength of her performances in the long jump, javelin and 800 meters. She placed third in each event.
