Binghamton women's cross country runs 19th at NCAA regional; men are 29th

Final Results

BRONX, N.Y..--Competing without its top runner, junior Erica Angell (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.), the Binghamton women's cross country team placed 19th out of 32 teams at the NCAA Northeast Regional, held at Van Cortlandt Park Saturday morning. The Bearcats men's team was 29th out of 34 schools.

Junior Stacy Kramer (Loudonville, N.Y.) was the team's top finisher, placing 46th in a field of 230 runners. Kramer covered the 5,000-meter course in 22:27. Classmate Kathryn Murnane (Rockville Center, N.Y.) crossed 67th in 22:47. Junior Allison Furey (Smyrna, N.Y.) was the other runner in the top 100, placing 98th in 23:21.

On the men's side, senior Pete Chambers (Newark, N.Y.) led the way, finishing 138th in a field of 233 runners. He completed the 8,000 meters in 34:06. Senior Sergey Shteyn (Staten Island, N.Y.) was 167th (34:56) and junior Prahlad Genung (Afton, N.Y.) crossed 179th (35:14).

Binghamton concludes its season at the ECAC/IC4A Championships next Saturday back at the same course.
