For Immediate Release: October 23, 2004 Contact: David O'Brian (dobrian@binghamton.edu) Phone: 607-777-6478 Altinay and Kushnirovich compete at ITA East Regional PHILADELPHIA, PA.-- Sophomores Zeynep Altinay (Ankara, Turkey) and Lya Kushnirovich (Brooklyn, N.Y.) represented Binghamton at the ITA East Regional, which was held at the University of Pennsylvania this past weekend. In doubles action, Altinay and Kushnirovich lost to the team of Whitney Simcik and Jennifer Lo Russo of Connecticut 8-3. Altinay also lost her first singles match of the tournament to Rashmee Patil of Yale 6-4, 6-4. The singles loss was just the second of the year for Altinay, who is now 9-2 overall. The ITA East Regional concludes the Bearcats' fall schedule.
