For Immediate Release: November 23, 2004 Contact: Thomas Moore II (sports@binghamton.edu) Phone: 607-777-2956 Kirby named America East Women's Diving Performer of the Week America East Conference Release VESTAL, N.Y.--Senior diver Maureen Kirby (Syracuse, N.Y.) has been named the America East Women's Diving Performer of the Week for week of Nov. 16 - Nov. 22. This marks the first time in his career he has recieved this honor. "I'm very excited for Maureen (Kirby) to receive Diver of the Week because she has worked so hard to learn new dives and perfect her old ones," head coach Patrice Back said. "After taking a couple years off from diving, she has a renewed energy toward the sport and it is very contagious. The entire team benefits from her enthusiasm" Maureen Kirby won the one-meter dive with a score of 300.655, and placed second in the three-meter, scoring 180.05 points to help Binghamton University take 3rd against Wagner, Cortland and St. Francis (Pa.) at the Cortland Thanksgiving Invitational this past weekend. Binghamton has one meet remaining in the fall semester. Both the men's and women's teams will host Cornell on Wednesday December 1 at 5 p.m.
