Binghamton women's soccer stays hot, blanks New Hampshire 3-0 on road
Bearcats earn third straight 3-0 win, improve to 3-1 in America East play

DURHAM, N.H. - Binghamton (7-5-2, 3-1 America East) scored twice in the game's opening 16 minutes and cruised to a 3-0 win over host New Hampshire (6-5-1, 1-2 AE) in a women's soccer conference game Thursday afternoon from Lewis Field. The win was Binghamton's third straight - and each has been by the same 3-0 score.

"We played really well in the first half," head coach Jeff Leightman said. "And then we played hard-nosed defense in the second half. I'm pleased with this result against a good team. This puts us in good position (3-1) in the conference."

Junior forward Danielle White (Haddon Township, N.J.) scored her team-high fifth and sixth goals of the season and sophomore Tricia Reed (Oswego, N.Y.) celebrated her return to the lineup with a goal.

Reed, who has missed five games this season, opened the scoring just 2:15 into the contest, heading in a cross from senior midfielder Kelly Sanders (Ramsey, N.J.). In the 17th minute, White took a pass from senior midfielder Lauren Massey (Burlington, Ontario) and beat the UNH keeper. She added an unasssisted goal in the 88th minute.

The shots were even at 14-14.

Junior keepers Kristie Bowers (Rochester, N.Y.) made two saves to record her sixth shutout of the season.

Binghamton closes out its three-game road swing with a game Saturday at America East preseason No. 1 Boston University.
