Soccer Bearcats blank Rider 4-0 In Lawrenceville, N.J., BU pumped in three second-half goals and coasted to the shutout win. Junior forward Mary Fazio (East Northport/John Glenn) tallied twice her third and fourth goals of the season and junior midfielder Rosey Mustafa (Montebelo/Suffern) chipped in two assists as the Bearcats won for the third time in their last four games. Sophomore forward Tracy Kasmarcik (Binghamton/Susquehanna Valley) collected her team-high fifth goal of the season, and junior keeper Lauren Cherry (Wyncote, Pa./Cheltenham) made 11 saves before departing with seven minutes to play. Fazio opened the scoring 31:12 into the contest, knocking in a feed from Mustafa at the goalmouth. Just 2:03 into the second half, freshman midfielder Emily Moore (Pearl River). scored her first collegiate goal off a rebound. In the 62nd minute, Kasmarcik took a through ball from senior forward Sarah Young (Hopewell Junction/John Jay) and converted. Fazio closed out the scoring in the 77th minute. Binghamton was actually outshot, 25-24. |
