Women's soccer loses to Maine in overtime 1-0 Box Score Vestal, N.Y. - Junior defender Linda Consolante, who represented her native Canada in the recent women's World Cup, coverted a 40-yard blast with 2:22 gone in the first overtime, leading Maine (9-1-1, 3-0-1 AE) to a 1-0 win over Binghamton (7-6-1, 1-3-1 AE) in an America East Conference women's soccer game on Thursday afternoon. Her goal marked the first time that the Binghamton defense had been scored upon in three games. "We would have liked to have played better at home," head coach Jeff Leightman said. "But Maine is a quality team and did what they had to to win." Freshman keeper Kristie Bowers (Rochester, N.Y.) made two saves for the Bearcats and appeared to be on the way to her second consecutive shutout before Consolante's shot just cleared the cross bar to end the game. It was Consolante's first goal of the season. Maine outshot Binghamton 10-2 for the game. The Bearcats head to Albany on Sunday for a 1 p.m. game.
