Binghamton had not scored a first-half goal all season and had been shut out in its previous two outings. Both droughts, however, were quickly ended. The Bearcats took a 2-0 lead just 5:33 into the game and jumped out to a 3-1 lead at the half. It was good to have a game where we could regain our confidence, head coach Jeff Leightman said. Scoring three goals in the first half really set the tone for the game." Norman wasted no time jump starting the Bearcats attack, as she connected with junior forward Tracy Kasmarcik (Binghamton, N.Y./ Susquehanna Valley), who then pumped the ball into the net at the 3:22 mark. Kasmarcik continued the attack when she fired a cross to sophomore forward Tatiana Mathelier (Pomona, N.Y./ Saddle River Day), who found the back of the net at the 5:33 mark. |

In the second half, Norman got an assist on the lone goal of the period, which was scored by sophomore midfielder Emily Moore (Pearl River, N.Y.) at the 65:17 mark. Sophomore midfielder Deli Plourde (Clifton Park, N.Y./ Shenendehoah) was also credited with an assist. Binghamton travels to St. Bonaventure on Sunday for a 1 p.m. game. NOTES: Binghamtons four goals marked its highest scoring game since it netted five against Albany on Oct. 31, 2001 ... Kasmarcik and Mathelier are now tied with freshman midfielder Lauren Massey (Burlington, Ontario/ Notre Dame) for the team lead with two goals. |
