Junior forward Tracy Kasmarcik (Binghamton, N.Y./Susquehanna Valley) and freshman midfielder Lauren Massey (Burlington, Ontario/Notre Dame) have been named to the 2002 Soccer Buzz All-Northeast Region teams. Kasmarcik was named to the Second Team while Massey was named to the All-Freshman team. "It's always nice when national publications recognize our players," head coach Jeff Leightman said. "Tracy and Lauren are both very deserving of these honors. It's also great for our program to be recognized through these awards." Kasmarcik
led the America East Conference in scoring with 12 goals, and
tied for top honors in points with 30 (1.67 per game). With her
senior season still to come, she has 39 career goals, which ranks
third all-time at Binghamton, and 95 points, which ranks fourth.
Just recently, Kasmarcik was also named second team All-Northeast
Region by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America
(NSCAA) Northeast Regional Team. Massey, meanwhile, picked up six points in her first season at midfield. She scored two goals and tallied two assists. Binghamton
finished with a record of 9-7-2 in 2002, including a 3-4-1 mark
in the America East Conference. |
