Bearcats beat Bridgewater State 37-3, lose to Boston University, 36-10

BOSTON, Mass. - Binghamton (2-3) split a pair duals on Sunday afternoon, defeating Bridgewater State, 37-3, before falling to fellow Colonial Athletic Association member and host Boston University, 36-10. Against the Division III Bears, BU won eight of the nine bouts, racking up a pin, technical fall and two major decisions. In the dual against the Terriers, however, the tables were turned, with Boston recording three pins, a technical fall and a major decision.

Junior 141-pound Josh Ruff (Bainbridge, N.Y./Bainbridge-Guilford) and senior 149-pound Beau Bruno (Mineola, N.Y.) each won twice.

Ruff raised his career dual match record to 25-3 with the pair of victories. He was given a forfeit win against Bridgewater State before posting a 12-3 major decision over Boston's Chris Coppolo. He improved to 5-0 in duals, 8-2 overall.

Bruno scored an 18-7 major decision over Tom Hennessey of Bridgewater State, and then earned a 13-9 decision over the third-ranked wrestler in the CAA, Boston's Justin Blumenthal. Bruno, who is ranked fifth in the CAA, raised his record to 4-1 in duals, 9-2 overall.
