Immediate Release: November 13, 2005 HARRISONBURG, Va. - In the program's first dual meet competition since being reinstated after a year's hiatus, Binghamton University wrestling dropped a pair of matches to fellow Colonial Athletic Association members James Madison, 23-12, and Drexel, 41-7, Sunday afternoon. Against James Madison, BU won four of the nine contested matches, but two major decisions and a forfeit victory provided the host school with the winning cushion. In the later match, Drexel won six of the eight bouts to post the victory. "I was happy with the way our young guys wrestled," head coach Tony Robie said. "We wrestled pretty good. We have to look at it in terms of individual performances this year. To win four of nine matches against James Madison is pretty good." Freshman Nate Patterson (Ontario, N.Y.) won both his matches at 149, posting a 10-6 decision over James Madison and an 11-2 major decision against Drexel. He is 4-1 this season. "Nate showed improvement from last week," Robie said. "He did a lot of things well." Freshman co-captain Chris Wade (Islip, N.Y.) split his two matches to improve to 6-2 on the season. Wade scored a 5-3 decision against JMU before suffering a narrow 10-9 loss against Drexel. First-year heavyweight Ed Bordas (Montgomery, N.Y.) also looked strong in his two matches. Bordas rebounded from a 4-3 setback against James Madison to score a 5-4 decision against Chris Cowen of Drexel, the defending CAA heavyweight champion. "That's an indication that Eddie can compete well within the conference" Robie said. "He definitely has a chance to earn an NCAA berth." The Bearcats host Slippery Rock on November 17 at the West Gym. It will be the program's first home dual since February 8, 2004 (a 34-11 loss to Sacred Heart). James
