Anna Riordan named America East Rookie of the Week

Freshman midfielder Anna Riordan (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Yorktown) has been named the America East Rookie of the Week, the conference announced today (March 22). In Binghamton's only game of the week, a 16-15 win over Siena, Riordan netted three goals and handed out two assists. She scored all three of her goals in the first half as the Bearcats took an 8-6 lead into intermission, and then had two assists in the pivotal second period. Riordan was a key part of the Bearcats being able to control play for much of the game, as she scooped eight ground balls and had four draw controls. Binghamton seized 20 of the 32 draw controls in the game.

In her first three collegiate games, Riordan has accumulated seven goals, including two apiece in games against Columbia and C.W. Post. She also ranks second on the team with 11 ground balls. The win over Siena on Sunday snapped the team's 16-game losing streak which dated to the 2002 season.
