For Immediate Release: April 14, 2004 Contact: David Berman (berman@binghamton.edu) Phone: 607-777-2956 Green named America East Rookie of the Week Women's lacrosse freshman Becky Green (Altamont, N.Y./Guilderland) has been named the America East co-Rookie of the Week, the conference announced this week. It is the second such honor for Green, who shared this week's award with Kate Fontana of Albany. In two games last week, Green tallied eight goals and handed out six assists in a 20-14 loss to Albany and a 12-11 win over Vermont. She scored five goals in the win over Vermont, including three straight late in the game to tie the game and set up the game-winner. Green has been a focal point of an offense that ranks second in America East in goals and first in assists and points. Binghamton is 3-6 overall and 1-1 in conference play this season. The Bearcats play a pair of non-conference games against Quinnipiac and St. Francis before returning to the conference schedule.
