Immediate Release: August 4, 2005 VESTAL, N.Y.--The Binghamton University women's basketball team has released its 2005-06 schedule and the Bearcats will open up at Kansas on Sunday Nov. 20 at 1 p.m. It marks the first-ever meeting between the Bearcats and Jayhawks and will take place at Allen Field House, one of the premier college basketball facilities in the nation. Binghamton
also had non-conference road games against Fairleigh Dickinson,
Harvard, Syracuse, Marshall and Morehead State. At home, the
Bearcats will host Lehigh, Colgate, La Salle, Cornell as well
as a Canisius team that advanced to the NCAA Tournament last
season. The men's team also has a Big 12 opponent on their slate in Oklahoma (Nov. 23). Head coach Al Walker's team wil play 11 non-conference games and 16 America East tilts. The conference schedule begins with an away contest at Albany on December 20. The Bearcats will play a home and home series against each of the eight other member schools, concluding with an away game at three-time defending conference champion Vermont on February 26. Binghamton will then welcome all eight teams to campus for the America East Championship on March 3-5. Both the men's and women's teams will ease into their seasons with a pair of exhibition games. The men will host Bishop's University on November 4 and play St. Rose on November 12. The women will face Le Moyne on November 7 and St. Rose on November 11.
