The scores were 30-25, 26-30, 30-19, 30-27. The Bearcats came into the match on a high after defeating first-place Maine on Friday but the tables were turned on Saturday by a Wildcat team that had yet to win a conference match. "We knew it was going to be a tough match," head coach Glenn Kiriyama said. "We did not have an answer for their attack and never really got our offense going." Freshmen Jacki Kane (Centennial, Colo.) had another solid blocking performance with 10 solo blocks. In the past two games, she has 36 blocks for an average of 4.0 blocks per game. Senior outside hitter Michele Heck (Chicago, Ill.) tied a team-high with 10 kills and added 12 digs. Senior right side hitter Jen Smith (North Tonawanda, N.Y.) also had 10 kills and a team-high 16 digs. Binghamton heads to Stony Brook for a 6 p.m. match on Friday. |
