Immediate Release: October 30, 2004 Contact: David O'Brian (dobrian@binghamton.edu) Phone: 607-777-6478 Volleyball falls to Northeastern in three games Box Score VESTAL, N.Y.--Visiting Northeastern (17-9, 8-2 AE) rode a balanced attack to defeat Binghamton (15-14, 5-5 AE) in an America East Conference volleyball match at West Gym. In the process, the Huskies sweep the season series from the Bearcats and remain second in the conference. "Northeastern's a good team." head coach Glen Kiriyama said. "We didn't pass the ball well tonight and never got our offense going." Brandie Genibrel led Northeastern with a match-high nine kills. Larissa Adomat added eight kills while Kira Batura and Ashley Reeves had seven each. Bree Peterson tallied 35 assists. For Binghamton, freshman middle blocker Jacki Kane (Centennial, Colo.) had a team-high eight kills. Sophomore setter Ashley Meffert (Louisville, Ky.) and freshman outside hitter Kathleen Schauer (Littleton, Colo.) each recorded a match-high 14 digs. Binghamton hosts UMBC on Friday at 7 p.m. |
