alum Caiaccia making headlines as men's college coach A former two-sport athlete at Binghamton (volleyball, basketball), Caiaccia is 100-59 in her five-year tenure coaching the men's team at Hunter. She led the program to league titles in both 1999 and 2001, and her team is the regular-season champion heading into the City University of New York (CUNY) tournament. Caiaccia's 100th victory was showcased on the American Volleyball Coaches Association web site. While at Binghamton, Caiaccia led the volleyball team to the post-season all four years - highlighted by the program's first-ever NCAA tournament berth in 1995. As a senior, the Caiaccia-led BU team went 40-9, bowing out to Ithaca in the NCAA regional. She graduated as the career leader in kills (1,257), kills per game (2.7) and kill attempts (3,591). Caiaccia was named AVCA National Player of the Week during the 1994 season, and also earned regional Academic All-America honors during her career. Read the AVCA article on Caiaccia (here) |
