Binghamton softball inks high school all-star from Long Island

VESTAL, N.Y.- The Binghamton softball program has announced the signing of Nicole Constantatos (East Northport, N.Y.), a senior from Commack High School who is a pitcher/first baseman. She will join the Bearcats for her freshman season in 2007.

Constantatos enters her senior season with a career pitching record of 56-17. As a junior team captain, she also batted .447 and had a perfect fielding percentage (1.000). At the conclusion of the 2005 season, Constantatos was named both All-Suffolk County and All-Long Island. In addition, she received both the Playoff Outstanding Pitcher Award and the Long Island Umpiring Association Sportsmanship Award.

Besides her impressive career at Commack, Constantatos has also played for the Sudden Impact Gold Travel Ball Team. The squad's summer/fall record with her on the team was 32-6 and she batted .505.

"Nicole will be a great addition to our pitching staff next year," head coach Holly Brown said. "She has the talent to come in and pitch right away for us. Nicole also brings strength to the plate as a hitter. She comes from a great program and has a tremendous work ethic."
