Weeks
throws complete-game shutout as Binghamton splits with Albany Weeks (6-2) surrendered just three hits and did not allow a walk in the opening game. She also struck out six batters. The Bearcats got all of their runs in the first inning, taking advantage of three Great Danes errors to score five times. Offensively, graduate student first baseman Leah Truncale (Newburgh, N.Y.) drilled a two-run single which at the time, gave Binghamton a 4-0 lead. Albany would commit five errors in the opening game. The second game, however, was a different story as the Great Danes got four runs off of junior pitcher Shannon Fleishman (Bath, N.Y./ Haverling) to take a 4-0 advantage. Fleishman, who left the game after the second inning, dropped her record to 3-2. Freshman shortstop Rose Barre (Watertown, N.Y./ General Brown) went 2-for-3 in the nightcap. She led off the bottom of the first inning with a triple and would later score on a sacrifice fly by junior outfielder Jessica Dima (Staten Island, N.Y./ Port Richmond). The Great Danes drilled solo home runs in the third and fifth innings to take a 6-1 before Truncale singled home Dima in the bottom of the sixth inning to cut the deficit to 6-2. Albany, however, added an insurance run in the top of the seventh inning to seal the game. Binghamton
