Immediate Release: February 4, 2006 Contact: David O'Brian (dobrian@binghamton.edu) Phone: 607-777-6478 Hampden and Wilmer shine at Syracuse Indoor Track Invitational SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Senior Hasani Hampden (Freeport, N.Y.) and sophomore Katie Wilmer (North Syracuse, N.Y.) were Binghamton's top performers at the Syracuse Indoor Track Invitational on Saturday. There were no team scores kept for the meet. Hampden won the men's 60 hurdles (8.48) and anchored the winning 4x400 relay team of freshman Jimmy Massar (Johnson City, N.Y.), junior Sam DePaola (Dix Hills, N.Y.) and senior Joe Flucus (Bronx, N.Y.), which posted a time of 3:22.06. Wilmer, meanwhile, won the women's pole vault and qualified for the ECAC Championships in the process with a height of 11-9 3/4. Other individual winners were senior Paddy Hennessy (Selkirk, N.Y.) in the men's weight throw (54-10 1/2) and junior Ryan VanHalle (Newark, N.Y.) in the men's pole vault (14-9). Senior Jaime Stitt (Ballston Lake, N.Y.) was second in the women's pole vault (11-3 1/2) while senior Nick Tillman (Binghamton, N.Y.) was second in the men's high jump (6-3).
