It marks the first time this season and third team in his career that he has received the weekly accolade. Quiller won the men's pole vault at the Coastal Carolina/Shamrock Invitational on March 18 with an outdoor school record height of 17-0 3/4. In the process, he met both the NCAA Regional and IC4A standards for the third consecutive season. He followed up with a win in the pole vault at the Army/Dick Shea Open this past Saturday (16-3). Last year, Quiller advanced to the NCAA Indoor Championships and placed 12th in the pole vault. "He's as good technically as he's ever been," head coach Mike Thompson said. "Right now, its a question of making sure he stays healthy (Quiller took a medical redshirt during the indoor season). We were pleased that he was able to qualify for regionals his first meet back." Binghamton heads to the West Point Invitational on April 8. |
