Immediate Release: February 11, 2006 VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton's track and field teams dropped dual meets with visiting Albany Saturday afternoon from the Events Center. The Great Danes won the women's meet 80-72 and also captured the men's meet 82-57. On the women's side, freshman Kim Williams (Buffalo, N.Y.) and sophomore Dayna Johnson (Brentwood, N.Y.) won two eventsw each and ran legs on BU's winning 4 x 400 relay. Williams captured both the 55 meter dash (7.35) and 200 (25.32) and anchored the relay. Johnson won the long jump (5.52m) and triple jump (11.93m) and ran the second leg of the relay. Sophomore Keisha Short (Yaphank, N.Y.) won the 400 meters (1:00.22) and led off the winning relay. On the men's side, freshman Justin Halleck (Depew, N.Y.) won the 35-lb. weight toss with an IC4A-qualifying mark of 17.01 meters. Binghamton next heads to the America East Indoor Track & Field Championship next Friday and Saturday at Boston University. |
