Immediate Release: April 16, 2005 "We
had a slow and tentative start in doubles, but came on as the
matches wore on," head coach Michael Starke said. "We
rode that confidence into singles, where I think our talent and
ability to execute under pressure took over. We did get the job
done and continue to play pretty well." Junior Richemn Mourad (Sao Paulo, Brazil) posted a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Irfan Shamasdin - his third straight win over conference opponents. Mourad also combined with classmate Edwin Gerard (Bayside, N.Y.) for an 8-5 win at No. 3 doubles. The most dominating performance was turned in by freshman No. 3 Alex Dobrin (Flushing, N.Y.), who rolled to a 6-0, 6-0 win over Michael Keller. Dobrin owns a team-best 18-3 dual match record, and is 23-5 overall. He also paired with junior Brian O'Connor (New Rochelle, N.Y.) for an 8-4 victory at No. 2 doubles. The
