Binghamton men's tennis rolls to 5-1 win over Hartford at Events Center
Bearcats play first-ever indoor match on campus, post sixth straight win

VESTAL, N.Y. - Playing a home indoor match for the first time in school history, Binghamton men's tennis (15-5) won five of the six singles matches to clinch a 5-1 victory over America East foe Hartford (3-4) Sunday afternoon at the Events Center. The teams opened with singles matches and the contest was halted after the Bearcats clinched the victory. The win was BU's sixth straight and 10th in its last 12 matches.

"Hartford is a pretty good team as evidenced by their win at No. 1," head coach Michael Starke said. "Im happy with the way we played. The Events Center is a different and unique playing experience and I thought we dealt with the different conditions quite well as a team. For me personally, after 19 years on campus, there is such a joy to be playing an historic tennis match in this fabulous facility."

The only hiccup, ironically, came at the top spot, where sophomore No. 1 Dan Hanegby (Herzliya, Israel) dropped his match in a super tiebreak. It was Hanegby's first match since earning a national ranking (No. 87) and the loss was just his seventh in 32 matches this year (25-7).

Junior Richemn Mourad (Sao Paulo, Brazil) picked up the slack with a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 2., and freshman Alex Dobrin (Flushing, N.Y.) continued to shine with a 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 3. Dobrin is 12-1 in his last 13 matches, and owns a team-best 16-3 dual match record (21-5 overall).

The Bearcats next travel to Long Island to face conference rival Stony Brook on April 9.
