Immediate Release: February 4, 2006 "We gritted out a win," head coach Michael Starke said. "We had some great spirit out there." After dropping two of the three doubles matches and losing the first two completed singles matches, BU trailed 3-0 before senior Richemn Mourad (Sao Paulo, Brazil) earned the first point with a three-set win at number one singles. After wins by senior Brian O'Connor (New Rochelle, N.Y.) and sophomore Faisal Mohamed (Lynbrook, N.Y.) a four and five singles, respectively, the match was decided at No. 6, where sophomore Mark Piro (Clifton Park, N.Y.) hung on for a 6-0, 7-5 win. Binghamton concludes its weekend with a Sunday match at Army. DOUBLES |
