Binghamton
drops first home match of spring season to Colgate, 5-2
BINGHAMTON,
N.Y.--Sophomore #1 singles player Akshay Rao (New Delhi, India)
rallied for a 5-7, 6-1, 7-6 (2) decision over his Colgate opponent,
but the Bearcats (3-3) scored juts one other singles win and
lost the doubles point en route to a 5-2 loss to Colgate at the
Binghamton Tennis Center.
The other singles victory came from freshman Brian O'Connor
(New Rochelle, N.Y.), who posted a 6-4, 6-4 win at #5 singles.
Binghamton lost two out of three doubles matches and the doubles
point. The lone doubles win cmae from junior Steve Spencer
(Plantation, Fla.) and sophomore Krishna Vallabhaneni
(LaGrangeville, N.Y.), who defeated the opposing Colgate
tandem 8-4.
