Men's
tennis shines at Bloomsburg Duals "The team was impressive," head coach Michael Starke said. "If this is an early indication, than it is a good one. One that can change at a moment's notice, though. We played well and our form was good for early season. Our conditioning was superior to that of the other teams. I thought our doubles teams gelled nicely. The Bearcats won seven of eight singles matches against all three opponents. In doubles, BU swept all four matches from Bucknell, and took three of four against both Bloomsburg and Villanova. Freshman top singles player Dan Hanegby (Herzeliya, Israel) rolled to three singles wins - all in straight sets. Sophomore No. 2 Edwin Gerard (Bayside, N.Y./Professional Children's School) also won all three of his matches in lopsided fashion. "Dan and Edwin stood out the most," Starke said. "Dan appears ready to fill the shoes and vacancy at No. 1. And this is the new and improved Edwin. His incredibly hard work over the summer has paid off. He is a serious threat on the court."
