Immediate Release: November 16, 2003 DURHAM, N.H. - The Binghamton men's swimming and diving team won seven of the 11 races and produced three triple-winners en route to a 125.5-108.5 dual win over host New Hampshire. The women were defeated by the host Wildcats, 183-58. For the men, senior Chris McGuire (Essex, England), junior Robert Kaczynski (Tychy, Poland) and freshman Brian Koizim (White Plains, N.Y.) each won twice and swam legs on the fastest 200 medley relay team. McGuire captured the 100 free (47.73) and 100 breast (59.03), Kaczynski won the 100 fly (52.41) and 200 IM (1:59.56), and Koizim touched first in both the 1000 free (10:16.0) and 100 back (55.57). The Bearcats went 1-2-3 in the 200 IM, and finished 1-2 in both the 100 fly and 100 back. On the women's side, Binghamton had no individual winners, but senior Yun Qu (Hangzhou, China) and freshman Kaitlyn Dameron (Albany, N.Y.) each picked up a pair of runner-up honors. Qu was second in both the 200 IM (2:13.39) and 100 free (54.88). Dameron was second on the 1-meter (202.35 pts.) and 3-meter (195.50) boards. |
