This is the second time in his career he has received this honor; for all races prior to November 1 he was named Performer of the Week. "I think it was very exciting for Kaan and the team," head coach Patrice Back said. "I believe the fact that the team swam well in their last dual meet really puts them in the right direction for the conference meet in two weeks." Tayla swept the 50 and 100-yard freestyle events in winning times of 21.27 and 46.73 respectively. He also anchored the 400-medley relay that won in 3:34.09. The Bearcats are off next week before embarking on their biggest meet of the season, the America East Conference Championships, which will be held at UMBC Feb. 18-20. NOTE: This marks the fifth time this season that a member of the Binghamton men's swimming team has recieved this award. |
