Binghamton swimming & diving teams raise money for cancer research

VESTAL, N.Y. - The Binghamton men's and women's swimming & diving teams participated in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life this past weekend. About 40 members of the teams took part in the cancer awareness fund raiser. This is the second year that Binghamton University has hosted Relay for Life.

The campus community raised more than $85,000 for cancer research, education and patient support programs at this year's event. The event was held in the Events Center lasted from 7 p.m. on March 24 until 7 a.m. the following morning. During the event at least one member of the team was required to be walking at all times throughout the 12-hour relay.
