Immediate Release: November 17, 2005 Contact: Thomas Moore II (sports@binghamton.edu) Phone: 607-777-2956 Binghamton men's swimming ranked No. 13 in CollegeSwimming.com Division I-Mid-Major poll Complete poll VESTAL, N.Y.-- The Binghamton men's swimming team (5-0, 3-0 AE) is ranked No. 13 in the CollegeSwimming.com Division I-Mid-Major poll, which was released on Nov. 14. This is the first time the Bearcats have been ranked since the leap to Division I in 2001. Defending America East Champion UMBC is ranked seventh in the poll. The Bearcats defeated the Retrievers on Nov. 5 with a 123-120 victory. Three other opponents the Bearcats will face this season are also ranked in the poll- No. 11 Bucknell, No. 12 St. Bonaventure and No. 17 Colgate. "This ranking shows the increase in talent the team has," head coach Patrice Back said. "It is exciting to be ranked. The team deserves it." The Bearcats travel to the Bucknell Invitational on this Saturday and Sunday. |
