The women (4-5) won a 122-121 decision but the men (3-7) came up short, losing 125.5-115.5. In the women's meet, there were three Binghamton double-winners. Senior Yun Qu (Hangzhou, China) captured the 1000 (10:52.40) and the 200 fly (2:08.21), junior Laura Linek (Canandaigua, N.Y.) touched first in the 100 free (53.88) and the 200 free (1:56.76) and senior Amy DeWitt (Mastic, N.Y.) triumphed in the 400 IM (4:17.75) and the 200 back (2:14.98). On the men's side, there were also three double-winners, as senior Chris McGuire (Essex, England) won the 1000 free (9:56.77) and the 200 fly (1:58.37) while junior Brian Roach (Clifton Park, N.Y.) swept the diving events, with scores of 227.70 in the one-meter event and 221.25 in the three-meter events, while junior Robert Kaczynski (Tychy, Poland) finished first in the 200 breast (2:15.13) and the 400 IM (4:18.27). The Bearcats return home on Saturday for a noon meet against Colgate. |
