Immediate Release: February 1, 2005 "Robert swam outstanding in both meets last week," head coach Patrice Back said. "This just goes to show how hard he worked at the record. Breaking the record shows how over his four years he has gotten stronger and gives him the ability to leave his mark on the school." While hosting Lafayette on Tuesday, Kaczynski swam the 200 IM in 1:54.91 and in the process, smashed the pool record of 1:56.08 set last season by Jakub Stroczynski of UMBC. In the same meet, he was part of the 400 yard medley relay and 400 free relay that won in 3:34.63 and 3:18.77, respectively. On Saturday against Colgate, Kaczynski won both his individual events-the 100 breast (58.85) and the 200 breast (2:08.91). He was also part of the 400 yard medley relay (3:31.12) which started the meet off with a win for the men's team. Kaczynski also swam in the 400 free relay, winning in 3:08.79 to give the team the final points it need to win the meet. Binghamton swimming and diving will host Stony Brook on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Patricia A. Saunders Aquatic Center. |
