For Immediate Release: November 16, 2004 Contact: Thomas Moore II (sports@binghamton.edu) Phone: 607-777-2956 Holmes named America East Men's Swimming Performer of the Week America East Conference Release VESTAL, N.Y.--Sophomore David Holmes (Doncaster, England) has been named the America East Men's Swimming Performer of the Week for week of Nov. 9 - Nov. 15. This marks the first time in his career he has recieved this honor. "David is going to make a huge impact at championships, like he has at these past meets," head coach Patrice Back said. "I like to see him highlighted in the America East, especially from a team where there are many that could be highlighted." Holmes swam the 100 yard butterfly in 51.65 breaking the pool record of 51.90 set by Chris McGuire in 2003. Holmes also took first place in the 200 yard freestyle (1:44.88). He swam the first leg won the 200 freestyle relay to help Binghamton win with a time of 1:29.09. Binghamton won the meet 120-86, improving to 5-1 on the season. Binghamton swimming and diving travels to the Cortland Invitational on Friday at 2 p.m. and Saturday at 8 a.m.
