Women's
swimming sweeps Georgetown and Seton Hall to remain unbeaten Men defeat Georgetown, lose to Seton Hall |

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Binghamton women's swimming and diving team remained unbeaten (5-0) with a pair of victories Saturday. The Bearcats defeated host Georgetown, 124-113, and also swam past Seton Hall, 141-91. The BU men (3-2) defeated Georgetown, 122-114 and lost to Seton Hall, 143-92. Sophomore Huijue Cai (Shanghai, China) set two Georgetown pool records, won two individual events, and helped BU's 200 medley relay establish another Georgetown pool record. Cai captured the 50 free in a new school record of 24.50. She also captured the 100 fly in 56.76. Both of those marks were pool records. The 200 medley relay of sophomore Hannah Clegg (Hampshire, England), senior Mary Tennyson (Middletown, N.Y./Pine Bush), Cai and freshman Eden Payabyab (College Point, N.Y./Brooklyn Tech) touched first in 1:51.53. Clegg also won the 100 back (59.97). Junior Yun Qu (Hangzhou, China) won three events - the 1000 free (10:45.31), 200 IM (2:12.82) and 500 free (5:08.85). On the men's side, junior Chris McGuire (Essex, England) captured both the 200 IM (1:54.82) and 100 fly (51.55), and sophomore Robert Kaczynski (Tychy, Poland) won the 100 breast (59.45). |
