BALTIMORE, Md.--The Binghamton University men's and women's swimming and diving teams crowned four more winners on the second day of competition at the America East Championship on Saturday at UMBC Natatorium. The men's swimmers racked up 243 more points to bring their total to 418 and still trail defending champion UMBC (604). Binghamton was in front of Stony Brook (376), Boston University (317), New Hampshire (232) and Maine (201 points).

On the women's side, the Bearcats tallied 88 more points to bump their total to 160 and trail Northeastern (558), New Hampshire (496), UMBC (327), Maine (285.5), Stony Brook (281) and Boston University (252.5). Binghamton is ahead of Vermont (134 points).

On the men's side, Binghamton's 200-yard medley relay quartet of sophomore Brian Koizim (White Plains, N.Y.), senior Robert Kaczynski (Tychy, Poland), sophomore David Holmes (Doncaster, England) and freshman Kaan Tayla (Ankara, Turkey) touched in 1:32.82 breaking the conference, pool and team records. The previous conference record set last season by Koizim, Kacynski, Chris McGuire and Dan Holmberg was 1:34.84, just over two seconds longer than the quartet swam today. The previous school record was 1:34.84 was set by the same four the during the regular season last year.

In the 100 fly Holmes and sophomore Trevor Stone (Windsor, N.Y.) took first (49.58) and second (50.75), respectively. Holmes broke McGuire's school and conference record of 49.64, which he set last season. Tayla took top honors in the 200 free (1:40.84), breaking the school record (1:41.11) set by McGuire last season. In the 100-yard breast, Kaczynski touched in 56.82 to win this event for the third year in a row. McGuire has been the only other Binghamton swimmer to win the same event three years in a row, he won the 200 fly the previous three years.

On the women's side, senior Huijue Cai (Shanghai, China) took third in the 100 fly (57.94).

The championship meet will conclude on Sunday, with time trails beginning at 10:30 a.m. The finals will begin at 5:30 p.m. The schedule is as follows:
