Tim Schum to be inducted into NSCAA Hall of Fame on Saturday
Former men's soccer coach compiled a 259-126-43 record in 29 seasons at Binghamton

VESTAL, N.Y. - Former Binghamton men's soccer coach Tim Schum will be inducted into the National Soccer Coaches' Association of America (NSCAA) Hall of Fame on Saturday. The ceremony, which will take place at the National Soccer Hall of Fame Museum in Oneonta, N.Y., will start at 5:30 p.m.

From 1963-92, Schum was the Binghamton head men's soccer coach for all but one season (1965). He is the winningest coach in school history with a 259-126-43 record. In addition, Schum's winning percentage of .655 is also the best in school history.

Competing on the NCAA Division III level, Schum led the Bearcats to the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) title six times and the NCAA Tournament eight times. His 1975 and 1980 squads advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals. Furthermore, Schum led Binghamton to the ECAC Tournament eight times, including a pair of championships in 1972 and 1976.

Schum was president of the NSCAA during the 1982-83 academic year. He was inducted into the Binghamton University Hall of Fame in 1996.
