Three
men's soccer players out for the season with injuries Senior back Mike Hibbert (London, England/ Kingsbury), senior midfielder Michael Austin (Oneonta, N.Y./ Oneonta) and sophomore forward Kyle Antos (Endicott, N.Y./ Union Endicott) will miss the remainder of the men's soccer season due to injuries, the team announced on Wednesday. Hibbert, who has been recovering from knee surgery injured his other knee during his rehabilitation. His injury is career-ending. Austin has had trouble with a disc in his back since two weeks before preseason started in August. Antos broke the fifth metatarsal in his right foot in Binghamton's 1-0 win over Robert Morris on Friday. "We place our first concern over our players safety and welfare once their careers are over," head coach Paul Marco said. "We do not want to risk further injuries which could hurt them after they leave. Still, our guys have responded to adversity very well this year. Mike Hibbert, in particular has been an inspiration to our team. He always sees to find the good within the bad." Binghamton heads into Wednesday's home game against Siena with a 3-1-1 record, its best start since 1993. |
