Binghamton finishes season ranked 26th in the NSCAA/Adidas Poll

VESTAL, N.Y. --Two years ago, when Paul Marco took over the Binghamton men's soccer program, the Bearcats were ranked No. 198 in the nation among NCAA Division I teams, according to the National Soccer Coaches' Association of America (NSCAA)/Adidas poll. That was then.

This week, Binghamton finished the 2003 season ranked No. 26 in the nation, according to the same poll. While the Bearcats just missed making the official Top 25 Poll, they were the first team mentioned afterwards as receiving votes.

Marco and the Bearcats were picked to finish eighth in the 10-team America East Conference this season. What they did instead, however, was finish second during the regular season, win the conference tournament and advance to their first ever NCAA Division I Tournament. From there, Binghamton upset then No. 13 Fairleigh Dickinson 1-0 in the first round and put a serious scare into then No. 7 St. Louis before losing 1-0 in overtime.
