VESTAL, N.Y.--Senior back Graham
Munro (Invergordon, Scotland) was named the America East
Conference Defensive Player of the Year for the third year in
a row as the America East Conference announced its 2005 all-conference
teams. In addition, senior midfielder Danilo
(Sao Paulo, Brazil) repeated as first-team all-conference
and freshman back Barry
Neville (Glasgow, Scotland) was named the to the
conference's All-Rookie Team.
Munro, was also named first-team all-conference for the fourth
year in a row, is currently second on the team with five goals.
He has paced a defense that is ranked 11th in the nation in goals
against average (0.62) and has recorded eight shutouts.
Danilo continues to be the vital link between the back line and
strikers. He currently has a goal and an assist. This marks the
third straight year he has been named all-conference, having
also been named to the second team in 2003.
"This year's (America East) first team
is very good, so it is great for us to have two guys," head
coach Paul Marco said. "It's a tribute to all of the work
Graham and Danilo have put in this year."
Neville started all but one game this season and currently has
two assists. He was named to the all-tournament team at the season-opening
Coastal Carolina/adidas Tournament.
"Barry had a good first year," Marco said. "Even
though he did not have a lot of stats, it is great to see other
coaches taking notice of what he has done for us."
Binghamton (11-4-3) is the No. 3 seed heading into the America
East Conference Tournament. The Bearcats host No. 6 Boston in
a first round game on Saturday at 1 p.m. |
