The award is based on all three-games the team has played so far this season. Mulheron currently leads the team in assists (six) and total points (nine). He also ranks second with three goals. In the Bearcats' 7-6, double-overtime upset of then No. 8 Towson, Mulheron scored a goal and tallied a game-high four assists. He assisted on the winning goal by junior attack Matt McNamara (Oswego, N.Y./Oswego) 3:20 into the second sudden-death period. "Chris is making an easy adjustment to the college game," head coach Ed Stephenson said. "He has great vision on the field and knows how to set other people up (for scoring chances)." Binghamton (2-1) is now receiving votes in two major polls. In the current USILA/STX Top 20 poll, the Bearcats are the first team receiving votes. In the current Inside Lacrosse Top 20 Poll, the squad is the second team receiving votes. A reality check, however, arrives on Tuesday night in the form of undefeated Hobart (3-0), which is ranked No. 17 in the March 6 USILA/STX Top 20 poll. The Statesmen are also the first team receiving votes in the March 13 Inside Lacrosse Top 20 Poll. "Hobart has had a long and outstanding lacrosse tradition," Stephenson said. "We are doing a good job at establishing traditions of our own and this is going to be a great test for us." |
