BU inducts 37 student-athletes to National College Athlete Honor Society VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton University held a dinner and induction ceremony for 37 of its elite student-athletes Thursday night at the Events Center TAU Clubroom. The group represents BU's first induction class into Chi Alpha Sigma, the National College Athlete Honor Society. The athletes, spanning 15 different sports, each have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.40 or higher and are juniors or seniors at Binghamton. The honor society recognizes outstanding academic achievement by intercollegiate varsity letterwinners and its primary purpose is to encourage good citizenship, moral character and friendship among student-athletes. Associate Athletic Director for Student Services Kim King and Faculty Athletic Representative Dennis Lasser, along with Director of Athletics Joel Thirer, were on hand to congratulate the following student-athletes.
