Immediate Release: June 5, 2006 VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton junior first baseman Brendon Hitchcock (Laceyville, Pa.) has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Baseball Team, capping another outstanding season for the quintessential student-athlete. Hitchcock, a first-team America East all-star and Dean's List accounting student, was one of five infielders chosen to the District I first team - the second straight year he has made the team. The district is comprised of seven Northeast states and five Canadian provinces. He led BU and ranked fifth in the America East in hitting (.363), sixth in slugging (.560) and seventh in RBI (46). The Bearcats won a school-record 27 games and missed out on a postseason berth by a half-game. |
