Three Binghamton University men’s tennis players have received national accolades from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, the school learned today. Dmitriy Litvak, Sylvain Ruest and Ryan Rosenthal were among 87 individuals cited for their academic achievement during the 2001-02 year.
To be selected, student-athletes must be junior or senior letterwinners with at least a 3.5 grade-point average. Only Princeton and Utah, with four each, had more individual scholar-athletes than Binghamton. In addition, Binghamton’s entire team, coached by Michael Starke, was one of just 25 Division I programs designated as an ITA All-Academic Team for maintaining at least a 3.2 cumulative team GPA. Litvak and Ruest were seniors on Starke’s squad that went 14-7 and advanced to the America East semifinals in the program’s first year of Division I. Rosenthal was a junior. | ||||
