Keith Hendrickson carded a 2-under 70 in Tuesday's final round of stroke play, and has made the cut at the 77th U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship at The Orchards Golf Club in Washington, Michigan. Hendrickson completed the 36-hole stroke play at -2 (72-70=142) - good for a share of 23rd place among the 156 golfers. The top 64 advance to Wednesday's first round of match play.
On Wednesday, Hendrickson will square off against Crispin Fuentes in a 10:03 a.m. match. Fuentes shot 74-69=143 to place 32nd. The cut was 146 (+2). Hendrickson shot 36-34 on Tuesday, collecting two birdies and two bogies on the front side, and two more birdies on the back. He birdied the 412-yard No. 10 and the 523-yard No. 15. On Monday, he put up five birdies on the back side for an electrifying 31 - the lowest nine hole score of the day among the entire field. The winners of Wednesday's matches will advance to play on Thursday, where the field will be reduced from 32 to eight with two rounds of matches. The quarterfinals and semifinals will take place Friday, with the 36-hole championship match slated for Saturday. | ||||
