BU student-athletes soar in fall semester schoolwork

Binghamton University student-athletes literally "did their homework" in the fall 2000 semester. A total of 313 athletes representing 19 varsity teams earned an average grade point average of 3.03 - the fourth straight semester BU athletes as a whole have topped the 3.0 mark.

Nearly 60% of all athletes posted a 3.0 or higher GPA (181 out of 313), including 80 individuals who earned a 3.5 or higher. That figure represented 26% of the entire core of athletes. Ten individuals achieved a perfect 4.0 for the fall semester. In addition, more than half of the teams carried a 3.0 or higher.
